Tim Walz Delivers 2024 State of the State Address
Pledges Minnesota as Shining Example of Prosperity and Firewall Against Hatred

Governor Tim Walz delivered his sixth State of the State address Tuesday night at Owatonna High School. In his speech, Walz pledged that Minnesota can be both a shining example of American prosperity and a firewall to the forces of hatred.
"We are Minnesota, and we are better than this," Walz said, referring to the recent rise in hate crimes and political extremism in the state. "We will not be divided. We will not be intimidated. We will not let hate win."
Walz also outlined his priorities for the 2024 legislative session, which include:
- Investing in education
- Expanding access to affordable healthcare
- Protecting the environment
- Creating good-paying jobs
"These are the challenges of our time, and we must meet them together," Walz said. "We must work together to build a better future for all Minnesotans."
